Statement on DEIA

JJ affirms Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in his professional career, programming works by underrepresented composers of various genders and races for both liturgy and concert. His three objectives are: 1) to enhance liturgy with sacred music by these composers; 2) to uplift the legacy of these musicians by playing their works with necessary artistic expression and technical finesse; 3) to bring music of these artists into the greater organ performance repertoire by sharing these works with concert audiences. JJ’s desired outcome is that, in celebrating the communities and cultures of these composers, this music will inspire listeners to act with social justice and to champion peaceful, equitable living for all.
